I go by Elliot, but not always.
For example, my GitHub username is nurriol2
,
which is based on my given name.
My given name is Niko Urriola, as seen on this published research paper
from my time spent genetically engineering E. coli bacteria to fluoresce.
By any name, I’m a maker who specializes in making computer programs, mistakes,
and other tools for life.
In 2019, I earned a Physics degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign because I speak a little Math and grew up watching too much Star Trek. I spent the next two years teaching quantum computers, K-12 students, and adult learners different ways to model and solve problems. In 2022, I moved out of the Chicagoland area to work as a patent engineer for a Silicon Valley based law firm.
You can see what I’m up to right now and read the stories behind my projects, all on this blog.
I like to listen to people who are trying really hard to make something better. If that’s you, we should talk.
